eBay officially launch Click & Collect service

No primary category set

eBay have put out a press release officially announcing that over 250,000 automotive parts and accessories from top retailers are now available with Click & Collect from 250 locations across the country.

They say that as technology becomes an increasingly important part of the way we shop, Click & Collect services, which allow people to shop online and then collect in store, are on the rise. eBay point out that 40% of UK shoppers used some form of Click & Collect service last Christmas.

Mark Higson, Head of Marketing & e-Commerce at GSF Car Parts, said “We’ve always aimed to offer our customers as many delivery options as possible, so Click & Collect is the natural next step. It’s great to be able to offer a new choice for our loyal eBay shoppers and to help motorists get the parts they need quickly and easily, from a local store that can offer additional advice and expertise”.

Click and Collect eBay items from ArgosThis is just the start though, with collection from Argos available for many items purchased on eBay we’ll be seeing more and more consumers choosing convenient locations to collect their purchases over the coming months.

The one that that bemuses me however is Argos themselves – they’re running the eBay Click & Collect service for 50 eBay sellers in 150 Argos stores… but not a single item from Argos for sale on eBay is available through Click & Collect. Why are Argos themselves not one of the first to offer the service?

  1. My car has broken down. I know! I’ll use ebay click and collect on my mobile phone to get the part. Oh bother! Its Amazon that do the drone service.

  2. Just because one method doesn’t work in one situation doesn’t mean you should buy on Amazon. eBay has eBay Now which I think they are trialing in parts of the UK.

  3. At the moment argos click and collect is just for items which are held in branch , unlike John Lewis or Currys for example where they will deliver to a branch for collection.
