eBay forgot to mention it, but Tamebay reader James just let us know that there is a seller protection FAQ for one hour between 2.30pm to 3.30 pm today hosted on the eBay community forum today.
James said “I am sure many of your readers would like to be involved to discuss the (many!) gripes we have with supposed “‘seller protection’“, so if you want to find out more, head over to the eBay community pages now.
It will be interesting to judge how sellers viewing seller protection and if eBay’s message that they’re removing bad buyers and incidences of unfair feedback. We hear from eBay that they’re doing lots of work to protect sellers, but we also still hear from sellers that, unless they have an account manager, it’s nigh on impossible to win a case when they run into the odd bad buyer experience.

Just read through that thread.
I find it frustrating that eBay employees have not in general mastered the concept of quoting that which they are replying to: so a lot of scrolling up and down becomes necessary in order to follow the discussions.
Otherwise there can never be a complete solution in the case of untracked items, there will be sellers who don’t send anything, and on the other hand buyers who claim not to have received that which they in fact have. eBay can only attempt to detect patterns of bad behaviour (an area where they could indeed improve their performance)
