Black Friday this year falls at the end of of the week beginning 24th Novemeber. It’s the Friday after the Thanksgiving Thursday in the US and traditionally the biggest shopping day of the ecommerce year.
Needless to say, in the UK, our shopping habits don’t quite mirror those stateside. Over here Cyber Monday (the Monday after Black Friday) can be significant and if I recall correctly, UK shopping peaked last year on one day in December. Basically, I’d say it’s not worth getting to het up about anyway, because it’s largely a PR and marketing construct to hook stories on.
Anyway, Amazon have started their countdown to Black Friday with a special deals page promoting stacks of deals and the like. You can find it here.
It’s not terribly beautiful, which is rather Amazon’s style, which also suggests it might be more of an SEO tactic.
