Do you sell products such as TVs, lighting, household appliances or similar electronic devices? If so then you need to be aware of new legislation making it a requirement to display the Energy Efficiency Rating when selling in Germany.
Under the EU Energy Efficiency Directive and the German Energy Consumption Labeling Ordinance information must be included and must be visible at first glance.
How you display this information will depend on the venue that you’re selling on. For marketplace style listings it would make sense to include the energy rating in the Item Title. However if you’re using display advertising then the Energy Efficiency Rating information must be included in the creative itself (either the image, or text).
As consumers become more accustomed to checking Energy Efficiency Ratings it makes sense to include them in item titles routinely to increase your chances of a sale, but it’s now essential if you’re selling in Germany.
