DPD have won all five award categories entered at the 2015 Motor Transport Awards in London – the first time any company has won five awards in one night in the 30 years that the ceremony has been running.
DPD won the Best Use of Technology, the Business Excellence Award, the Customer Care Award, Home Delivery Operator of the Year and the Technical Excellence Award at the annual Motor Transport Awards, before more than 1,500 guests at London’s Grosvenor House on Park Lane.
Known as the transport industry ‘Oscars’, the awards celebrate the achievements of the industry and recognise innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. They are judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry.
The judges summed up DPD in three words; “consistent, innovative, consumer-minded”, and praised the company’s “stellar growth”, “clear focus on the customer” and investment in technology, claiming DPD was “several years ahead of its competitors”.
It’s only days since DPD won the Which? 2015 Special Award and their success amongst their peers reflects many Tamebay readers experience of both shipping via DPD or their Interlink brands, or of being the recipient of parcels sent via DPD.
DPD’s CEO Dwain McDonald said of the award coup: “Being consistently good at what you do, millions of times every week, 52 weeks a year is a huge challenge and requires every member of staff to be on top of their game, and have access to the best technology available. Our customers know the difference it makes, and these awards demonstrate that our peers in the transport industry recognise it too, and that makes all the hard work worthwhile.”
One Response
I quite agree, “several years ahead of its competitors” is right. There’s not another courier company that comes close. There doesn’t appear to be any that are even trying.
German efficiency at its best.
