Before I get a ticking off from anyone: I should have been better organised and got to my local branch of Marks and Sparks sooner. My own disorganisation that week (fresh off the plane back from the US) was a prime problem here and I can offer no excuse. And anyway: I was told off by the staff at M&S. Like a little boy.
But equally, is 6 days enough time for me to Click and then Collect? We all lead busy lives and sometimes things get forgotten. Like the two pairs of trousers I ordered for Click and Collect from Marks.
I bought two pairs of trousers online. They were due for delivery on Friday, 30th of October at my local store. I didn’t pop by until last Friday, 6th November and found they had been sent back. I was too late because they only keep the stock for 6 days. My trousers had left the building. I will be refunded in due course.
eBay Click & Collect terms are 7 days and I just wonder if it’s enough. I guess it depends on the storage capacity at the branch in question. Marks didn’t email me or text me to remind me, which seems foolish. They emailled me later on that Friday to say I had missed the window. After I’d been to the shop.
But perhaps most ridiculous of all was, having presented myself at the my local M&S, and offered apologies, I couldn’t reorder. I still wanted the trousers but I couldn’t order them again and defer my refund. I left chastised and trouserless by the prissy and slightly stern lady at the desk.
But then we expect to be slightly patronised by the superior women who work in Marks. She suggested I might want to order them online again and collect them in good time in the next instance. I felt suitably chastised. M&S. S&M. Easily confused.
