Shop eBay this weekend

The eBay home page today states that they’ll donate a percentage of this weekend’s EU revenues to the victims and their families of terror attacks in Paris.

If you were thinking of making a purchase in the next few days, consider making it on eBay today.

  1. And to think you were slating them yesterday!!!! How much are Amazon donating then? Perhaps we should have a new article criticising Amazon then?

  2. To be fair to both eBay and Amazon, they don’t really have to do anything. I haven’t seen any debate about this anywhere else? Stories for the sake of it?! The Daily Mail of the online trading world?!

  3. Maybe if buyers and sellers didn’t have so many issues with logging on and buying and bidding etc etc etc they might get more money, but reading the boards, ebay really needs to get it’s act together.
The issues seem to be so vast from uploading images to logging in to leaving feedback to printing orders.

  4. why not? Tamebay has Chris Dawson who comes acoss mild and reasonable , then it has Dan wilson who comes over abrupt and confrontational

  5. It would help if I actually got these posts on the day they are posted instead of after the event. I seem to be last on the list. Why is that Chris? All my Tamebay emails arrive a day after everyone else’s. Maybe you Know something Dan?

  6. I think the bigger questions which seem to have been missed are: “Should ecommerce sites be reacting to such events? Are they social sites or are they retail sites?”

Once you start reacting to such events with home page takeovers where do you stop. Which events are so important they are deemed worthy and crucially who decides when an event is unworthy of such attention?
