Over the past few days, we’ve had several reports from Amazon sellers that Amazon is limiting the acceptance of some ASINs to their FBA fulfilment centres.
When trying to create an FBA shipment one seller received this error message: “You are already at the maximum inventory allowed for this product, due to capacity or other restrictions. This product must be removed from this shipment.”
The reasons for Amazon not accepting certain stock are not clear. Some say it is a technical glitch. Others have speculated that Amazon’s FBA warehouses are filled to capacity. But it seems most likely that Amazon don’t want to stuff their FCs full of slow moving stock for which there isn’t adequate demand.
And there is a way to check if your ASINs are subject to limits at the moment. This very useful blog from Online Selling Experiment runs you through the process step-by-step. (I suspect this is the process on Amazon.com so it may be slightly different for UK Users.)
Have you been affected by this problem?

For Amazon UK
Go to REPORTS tab
Select Fulfilment By Amazon
Then select Inventory Healh from the left
Download the report
Sort by column AR / asin-limit and it will tell you if you have any restrictions
I don’t have huge quantities in Amazon’s FC’s but a significant percentage of my inventory is going through “FC Processing” and “FC Transfer” which is having a huge impact on revenue. After raising the issue with Seller support they have just said that it is an issue affecting many sellers and they are working to resolve….
I suspect that their fulfillment centers are going through some sort of crisis, what is the reason, is not clear
We actually have this problem with some very high ranked selling products in media. Personally I think it is amazon wanting to keep prices high on some of their best products (aka price fixing).
they should stop accepting stock from overseas sellers with no VAT NUMBER , that should free up half the warehouse
Most likely that they are products that they want to corner the market on themselves. Deny FBA to the seller and visibility is reduced for all the mugs signed up to Prime who are prepared to pay more to have free shipping even though another seller may be cheaper (including shipping) but won’t be visible to Prime customers.
FBA is for mugs. It gives Amazon way too much power.
