FedEx looks to ecommerce SMEs for growth

No primary category set

Global delivery firm FedEx is honing in on the ecommerce opportunity and is launching FedEx Fulfillment. It’s a service focussed on ecommerce SMEs and marketplace sellers who are plugged in to the realities of online selling.

A core component of the FedEx Fulfillment offering is apparently its SaaS-based platform. They say they can help SMEs realize profitable and scalable growth through various ways, including warehousing, fulfillment, packaging, transportation and reverse logistics.

Dan Coll, a senior manager of ecommerce services for FedEx Supply Chain, says: “FedEx has an immense passion for small and medium businesses and ecommerce so the natural evolution for FedEx Supply Chain was to offer our operations and technology to these types of customers and to really focus on offering them an end-to-end solution, not only for logistics but also for transportation–all in one offering.”

It looks like these services are predominantly going to be offered in the US to start with but FedEx is a UK and European brand too so maybe soon similar options will be available here.
