eBay UK £1 selling promo for private sellers this weekend

No primary category set

Some private sellers will have received an email from eBay UK this weekend offering a pricing promo: “For 4 day only, make up to 100 listings and pay no more than £1 in Final Value Fees for each. Ready, steady… list!”

You can view the promo page here. Needless to say terms apply. And it’s valid until midnight on Monday. A the terms say: “Create up to 100 listings on eBay.co.uk in an eligible category, starting during the promotional period, using the auction-style or fixed price format and pay a maximum of £1 per listing in final value fees if the item sells. Before your 100 listings start, you need to have actively opted in to the promotion via the RSVP link shown in the marketing communication. Also, you won’t pay an insertion fee for each of the 100 listings. Listing upgrade fees will still apply and will be charged according to the eBay fees policy.” It’s not a bad offer.

It’s not much of a surprise to see an eBay UK pricing promotion coming down to land in the weekend before the August Bank Holiday weekend. It’s traditionally a quiet time and incentives are needed for people to sell and list their wares on the site.

To read the full terms of this eBay UK promo, check out the page here. Don’t forget, to get involved, you’ll need to have been invited (and we don’t know the terms there), accept the deal and also start selling within the time frame.

  1. As a seller on eBay, personally i think they pitched this offer too early, it would have been better suited to the Friday before the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, which is also payday for many people.

3 weeks in to a pay period, folks may be cash strapped……..and within a few days any item has gone way down the listings and lost if not “watched”.

But I acknowledge that any purchases made now should arrive in time for the BH weekend etc, so there is that to factor in too…….a balancing act.

Though overall I think good fee offers are better in time for pay day weekends (whether it be a Bank Holiday or not) when folks still have some disposable income to play with.
