We often hear from sellers complaining that they didn’t get to hear about an eBay selling fee promotions until it was too late. It looks like eBay have heard your complaints and done something about it.
There is a new eBay selling fee promotions marketing preference for all eBay UK sellers which is dedicated to offers on selling fees. Users who are opted in to the new preference will receive selling fee promotions, including discounts on selling fees, via email. Over the coming months active sellers will start to receive selling fee promotions as part of the introduction of this new preference.
Doubtless you’ll want to make sure you’re signed up to hear about all eBay selling fee promotions and it’s in the Communication Preferences section of your eBay account settings. Log in to eBay today to make sure that the box is ticked (or unticked if you don’t want to be notified of when you could save money!).
While you’re logged in, it’s not a bad idea to check all of your account settings. One thing you may want to make sure is enabled is to let buyers ‘Have your phone number’ under ‘Manage communications with buyers‘. With the current clampdown on contact details in email communications we’d recommend ticking every box possible to enable buyers to make contact with you if they need to.

This poses a big question…..in my ‘Manage communications with buyers‘. section eBay has un-ticked the phone number box by default, supposedly so buyers can not get sellers phone number. Mine has always been ticked but now it’s not. What happens if I go back in and tick that box? Will I be suspended? They obviously don’t want us to share our phone number. Can someone get some clarification from eBay?
