Bank Holiday Amazon Prime promo for £59

No primary category set

Amazon in the UK is offering a discount on its flagship Prime service as part of their summer sales event that continues until the end of the day on Tuesday. The Amazon Prime promo mens you can get a year for £59 rather than the usual £79. You can find out more here.

Amazon announced last week that they would be having and promoting a big August Bank Holiday Sale which started at 00:01 on Wednesday the 22nd and continues until 23:59 on Wednesday 29th the of August at amazon.co.uk/augustsale.

As they also do on Prime day promos, Amazon is discounting its own devices with £45 off Echo Plus, £20 off Amazon Echo, £15 off Fire TV, £20 off Kindle Paperwhite, £10 off Fire 7 tablet and £40 off the all-new Fire HD 10 Kids Edition tablet too. But they are also offering a deal on Prime.

In part the Amazon Prime promo is to herald Amazon’s ever increasing forays into television and growing focus on sports events. The ‘hook’ here is Amazon have bagged the US open tennis and it will be available to Amazon Prime members for free.

As always with these things there are terms and conditions. The biggest annoyance is probably that the 25% discount isn’t available to existing Amazon Prime users. Rather this is, once again, about snaring new shoppers to try out the service. They have been doing something similar by offering a week of Prime for 99p recently.

From a merchant perspective it’s no surprise that more and more of Amazon’s committed buyers are now Prime users and that means that if you pick, pack and ship your Amazon sales rather than using Amazon FBA of Seller-fulfilled prime then you are potentially missing out on some tasty sales. With the peak season now fast approaching, it could be worth assessing whether you could be benefitting from either programme.

One Response

  1. Think people might be looking for refunds if they bought PRIME for the US open, it has got to be the worst coverage I have ever seen of a major, 3 show courts and 1 from the outside courts, half the time you do not have a match being played. Total rubbish.

Sound is out of sync with the gameplay. They could not even be bothered with decent commentary.
It is actually ruining the tournament as a spectacle.

1 star reviews all the way. Amazon can’t do live sports.
