Following the government’s confirmation that automotive retailers in England must once again close their vehicle showrooms for at least four weeks from the 5th of November 2020, eBay Motors Group has announced COVID-19 lockdown support for all its advertising dealers across the UK.
Motor dealers have had a tough time, not just with the forced closure of forecourts but also a depressed market for car sales as the rest of the country work from home for much of the year. It’s great to see eBay COVID-19 lockdown support for this sector of the economy, and if by any chance you’re in the market for a vehicle upgrade make sure you browse eBay Motors to see what’s on offer.
eBay Motors Group COVID-19 lockdown support
Free advertising throughout December 2020
Advertising vehicles on all eBay Motors Group platforms will be free throughout December 2020. This means dealer invoices for classified advertising products will be zero for this period, though other products (such as dealer websites) will continue to be chargeable.
Removal of over-posting fees in December
Dealers will not be charged for any reasonable over-posting on their accounts during December.
Market insight and analysis
eBay will be providing regular Market View updates over the coming weeks to help automotive retailers understand wider market dynamics, which will be available on the eBay website.
“We hope the reduction in advertising fees and other measures we have put in place will provide all our dealer partners across the UK with meaningful support as they enter into another unusual and challenging period of trading. We continue to see positive levels of consumer demand across our platforms and wish retailers well as they adjust once again to selling cars via Click & Collect and Home Delivery and building their pipeline of orders.”
