Before starting on eBay in 2016, the team behind Vintage Honey Pots had been trading in vintage items, collectables and ephemera for over 20 years. But despite the recent success of its online business, its eBay journey wasn’t an instant success story
It was only last year, after enrolling in the Pro-Trader programme, that the eBay side of the business really took off. Prior to this, the makings of a great eBay business were there, but there were a lot of tweaks that could be made to increase visibility – and sales.
By taking a step back and re-evaluating what they were doing and using various eBay tools and programmes, the Vintage Honey Pots team overhauled their listings, optimised their Shop and took their product photography to the next level. They also started shipping overseas via the Global Shipping Programme, which opened up their business to millions more buyers around the world.
This enabled the business to exceed its total sales figures for the whole of 2022 in the first 6 months of 2023, making Vintage Honey Pots more than worthy winners of the Business Growth Award! But beyond simply making (a lot) more sales, it’s the building of a great team and vibrant, supportive culture that has seen the business take extraordinary strides, with no signs of slowing down.
The Business Growth Award recognises bold businesses that have seized opportunities and embraced the tools at their disposal to unlock new revenue streams or elevate existing ones to deliver a real upsurge in growth.
