eBay.com warns of potential disruption in light of snowstorm

As you’ve probably heard on the news, the Eastern Seaboard of the United States is currently taking a battering from a huge snow storm that’s centred on New York.

With as much as three feet of snow predicted, there’s a vehicle curfew currently in place in NYC and citizens in the affected area are being advised to stay in their homes.

eBay has placed an announcement on eBay.com asking for people to be mindful of the situation when dealing with potentially impacted sellers. eBay have also pledged they will look out for affected traders. You can read the entire post here.

It says: “If you are involved in an eBay transaction with a buyer or seller in this region, please note that their ability to complete your transaction may be delayed due to these conditions. We encourage you to be patient in this matter, both throughout the transaction and when providing feedback once your item arrives.

Sellers: Don’t forget that eBay will make efforts to protect your hard-earned seller rating. When we have valid tracking information, we automatically remove all defects related to shipping delays caused by major storm events.”
