Helpful information for Play.com buyers

No primary category set

Play logoIt’s quite likely that there are some Play.com customers who have outstanding orders, gift vouchers or digital downloads that they’ve previously purchased. Whilst we can’t offer any assistance whatsoever now that Play.com has closed, we can point you towards Rakuten’s advice on how to proceed if you have any outstanding Play.com interests.

Can I access my Play.com account

No, you can no longer be able to access your Play.com account via the Play.com site, in fact you can’t even see the site as you’ll be redirected to Rakuten.co.uk. Your account profile information will however be available in Rakuten.co.uk but you won’t be able to see any of your Play.com history.

What if I have outstanding orders on Play.com?

If you’re a buyer and wondering what’s going to happen to your Play.com orders, don’t worry they should still be delivered.

Rakuten suggest that you’ll have the information you need on transaction emails so make sure you don’t delete them, although customer service at Rakuten will still be there to assist you.

What if I need to return an item bought on Play.com

The advice from Rakuten is to work things out with your seller, assuming you still have their contact details. You should find contact information on transaction emails or again Rakuten customer service will be there to assist you.

What if I have outstanding Play.com Gift Vouchers?

The bad news is that if you have Play.com Gift Vouchers they’re now worthless. Rakuten say that you should have realised that Play.com was closing and you should have spent them before today.

What if I have Digital Downloads on Play.com?

If you have previously purchased any Play Digital downloads (and hadn’t downloaded them and saved them) then sadly you’ve lost these too. Rakuten’s advice was to make sure you’ve downloaded them before today but if your computer crashes and you lose them you’ll no longer be able to back them up from Play.com.
