Kate Middleton’s VW Golf from St Andrews on eBay

No primary category set

It’s not often that a car owned by a senior member of the Royal family comes up for sale, but currently on eBay there’s the opportunity to buy a car driven by the future Queen of England.

was traded in at a Reading garage and is now listed with a start price of £20,000. Originally it would have cost around £11k, and Kate owned it whilst at university. She was often seen driving around Edinburgh with Prince William in the car.

Kate, now known as Her Royal Highnesses Duchess of Cambridge, Countess of Strathearn and Baroness Carrickfergus, will one day be Queen of England and at that time the value of the car (if preserved) could be incalculable. Certainly it is likely to be more than today’s twenty grand asking price.

Also included in the sale are a pair of St Andrew sterling silver cuff links found in the car, although it’s not certain if they belonged to Prince William, Kate’s brother or an unknown person.

The first registered owner of the car is recorded as “Catherine Middleton”, and this is likely to be the most unique piece of Royal memorabilia to come up for sale this year.

  1. The item description now states that the cuff links have been removed from the auction…

“Please note the cuff-links are no longer for sale, after careful consideration I feel these may have personal connections to the Middleton’s. So I have decided to pass the cuff-links back to the Middleton family. I feel that this is where they belong regardless of any value.”
