I’ve just been buying a couple of things on eBay and was somewhat surprised to find delivery “Estimated between Thu. 2 Apr. and Fri. 3 Apr..
It’s probably not escaped your attention that next weekend is Easter weekend and most of the country will be taking four days off from Friday 3rd April to Monday 6th April. Certainly Royal Mail (who this seller ships with) and Parcelforce, along with most other couriers, will be taking a few days off.
It looks like eBay simply haven’t updated delivery promises to take account of the Easter Bank holidays, at least I’m guessing that the one day I can be pretty sure my purchase will definitely NOT turn up is Friday the 3rd.
Whilst there’s little you can do, it’s at least worth making sure if marketplaces are promising deliveries on days when postal service and couriers don’t work that your customers are aware of this. Although in truth your customers probably aren’t daft and would be amazed if a courier knocked on their door on a bank holiday anyway.

eBay have told us “eBay is aware that Easter public holiday dates are not being correctly accounted for in delivery estimates, and we are working hard to put this right. We will provide a further update as soon as possible.”

And how much are we betting any low DSR’s during this period won’t be removed ? ….
My listings today say that the estimated delivery date for an item bought today is Friday 3rd April to Monday 6th of April.
That’s Good Friday or Easter Monday. So what do I do? Keep selling and risk an avalanche of defects or close down until after Easter?
Really this makes Ebay and us, the sellers, look unprofessional and incompetent.

eBay March update they think that the 2nd of April is a Tuesday no wonder they cant sort out the bank holiday post they have no idea what day of the week it is

eBay should be working smart not hard. Should have been sorted weeks ago. Is this what we must now expect following the staff cull?

What happened to the Spring Seller Release? .com had theirs a few weeks back.
