Over in the United States, Amazon has launched monthly payment plans for Amazon Prime. Thus far, an annual subscription has given buyers free quick shipping, access to Amazon Video and some music and an array of other perks.
Amazon is now offering Prime on a monthly basis as well. It trailed the idea recently with US mobile phone provider Sprint.
And as part of the changes, US Amazon users can also now subscribe monthly to the Amazon Prime Video service.
Prime Video will cost $8.99 a month and Amazon Prime will be available on a monthly payment plan of $10.99. That adds up as more expensive than if you pay up the annual fee in one go.
Amazon considers Prime to be on of its crown jewels for encouraging sales and loyalty from buyers. Will monthly plans come to the UK any time soon? We expect so.

Of course they will. The reports of more and more items being held for sale to Prime members only indicates that. That the George & Mildred box set is currently restricted to Prime members only is utterly baffling.
Amazon Prime monthly costs £7.99 a month and has been available for 9+ months.
