There’s been a major update of UK based nascent vintage marketplace RETruly.com relevant to both buyers and sellers.
For buyers there is the new ability to buy in multiple currencies and improvements to the checkout including the opportunity to buy as a guest without the need to create an account. Listing page layouts have been spruced up and pictures are better displayed. The search facility has also been updated.
Sellers can now enjoy customisable store layouts, shipping profiles, improved product listing functionality and better order management to administer sales. Seller also have SEO options now and control over meta tags. There is also the option to require immediate payment from shoppers.
Regarding fees, it’s free to list and there are no subscriptions and a 7.5% sales commission. In the future there will be a fee to open a shopfront on RETruly but anyone already signed up as a seller will continue to enjoy free subscription. If you’re selling elsewhere they have a product import facility that means you can get started selling quickly by utilising the content you have elsewhere.
Check it out. It’s an engaging and interesting site and, although it’s early days, I can see it gathering momentum and a following in this specific niche.
