Marketplace Overview

You’ll likely have seen GAME on the UK High Street. They sell video and computer games, DVDs, gaming kit such as consoles and also other tech items. But they also encourage sellers to plug into their own marketplace set-up. But they don’t talk about that nearly enough.

In 2017 GAME launched a marketplace solution allowing third party sellers to be integrated onto As far as we know, there are over 400 third party sellers successfully trading, each bringing their own product range and unique style to GAME Marketplace. This includes sellers offering tech, AV, mobile phones, tablets and more.

They also offer help on-ramping to the marketplace, as they say: “Most importantly we have a dedicated team of real people here to support you at all times, we pride ourselves on a personal approach to supporting our GAME Marketplace sellers.”

Seller registration and requirements

Registration is by application. They say: “We’re always looking to expand our range of products on GAME Marketplace, to learn more about this great opportunity please contact us via [email protected]. You will receive an information pack containing full details of commission charges, set up process & suitable product ranges to sell. Within your email please provide us with a contact name and phone number, the types of products you wish to sell, along with any other information you feel we should know. One of our team will call you.”

Product listings and fulfilment

GAME boasts that there are no subscription fees, no listing fees and no set up costs. There are commission fees on sales but they don’t seem to be published.

Tamebay’s take on GAME

GAME is a well known brand in the UK and it offers a compelling marketplace opportunity if you’re interested in selling video games and the like which are a good fit. But it is also competitive and GAME is the biggest seller there. Whilst it is offering more than just video games, it is price sensitive and selective. But the real opportunity is surfing its significant brand and High Street recognition. Future opportunity lies with greater European and international reach. So it is likely that getting in on the ground floor to take advantage of their future plans is no bad thing. They could be even bigger in the years to come.

  1. Ahhh Game…. down a lot for us this year, but we have kept it going we dropped some of the others. They seem to get a bit of traffic at Christmas mainly parents buying pressies. We got lucky with a couple of big titles they seemed to have run out off, but their fees are so high we were selling at silly prices but they went.
    Not much good the rest of the year.
    They offer absolutely NO support for the marketplace sellers, they are actually the worst for communication off them all. Apart from one email demanding faster shipping we have not seen a thing from them all year.

    Their name is all that keep ahead of some of their rivals simply because it is known on the high street.
