Yaytrade is a Swedish marketplace for selling, buying, swapping and renting that was launched at the beginning of the year. Since then, the platform has had hundreds of thousands of visitors from more than 160 different countries, capturing attention from several directions. It’s commerce based on bartering and swapping although you can also use cash if you prefer.
Currently it’s free to buy, sell and barter on the marketplace, who only receive a percentage of a transaction that occurs when users choose to pay through their payment partner, Stripe.
“Yaytrade is a service that allows you to trade with anything that has a value, in a way that suits you best. Pay for a bicycle with a tire change, rent a tuxedo for a coffee or replace a wedding ring in exchange for a week of sailing. You can buy and sell products or services by combining money with swaps and rentals.”

Swedish tech veteran Johan Hernmarck is now taking on the role of Chairman of the Board and brings years of industry experience – it was via his investment company Provider, one of Tradera’s major owners when Tradera was acquired by eBay in 2006.
“Yaytrade is a very exciting and interesting company that is very timely. I can draw many parallels between Yaytrade and previous successful investments and I definitely believe this can be a success similar to Tradera, Yubico and Payson. What characterizes Yaytrade is that the platform has displayed a global scope already from the get-go”.
