eBay have announced that they are humbled by the help that the eBay community have been providing during the Coronavirus pandemic. Whilst eBay are closely monitoring the COVID-19 spread and making important decisions based on the advice of healthcare authorities they are watching closely the great things that are happening within the physical and online communities of it’s customers and employees.

Sellers offering encouragement, business tips and supplies have not gone unnoticed and eBay are proud to see how people have come together during this testing time to support each other.

Kindness in the eBay community

eBay seller Laurie Wong of Reflections of Trinity, is working with her local government and school district to provide the local children affected by school closures with free lunches and has so far donated more than 500 boxes of groceries.

UK seller Mark Brown, of the Editors Keys store is helping support neighbourhood businesses such as restaurants and cafes by buying vouchers for future meals to enjoy later down the line, helping those businesses relieve cash pressure.

In South Korea eBay employees have donated an amazing $84,000 worth of hand sanitizers and masks to paramedics, caretakers and others in one of the most affected areas, the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. The Korean team have also collected thousands of sanitary items to donate to local hospitals and residents.

eBay supporting small businesses through the community

eBay are investing into their community to support small businesses through the eBay Foundation. The Online Marketplace currently support Alice, the Opportunity Fund and Small Business Majority, who are committed to helping underrepresented small business owners get the critical resources and funds they need.

eBay are even supporting the Silicon Valley Community Fund’s COVID-19 Regional Response Fund aiming to support low-income individuals and families severely affected by the Virus outbreak.

Support, kindness, dedication and recognition during these tough times is evident, keep it up!
