Free Gallery on eBay UK all summer!

No primary category set

The offer applies to auction and Buy It Now listings, but not to Shop Inventory Format. The Parts & Accessories section of eBay Motors is included, but the rest of Motors is not.

This is a superb offer from eBay UK, and one that will hopefully be made permanent after September. Gallery not only helps individual listings to sell better, it makes the whole site more attractive and easier to use; I know as a buyer, I wouldn’t be without it.

Thanks to TameBay reader Louise for the heads up.

Updated to add: There has been some confusion as to whether this applies to eBay.co.uk, eBay.ie or both. The refers to eBay Ireland. However, the refers to both sites. The same T&C page has been duplicated on UK and Ireland, so I think it’s safe to assume this was a typo.

  1. a welcome reduction, though I dont kid myself its because of ebays generosity or love of its sellers

  2. It’s a sweetener.

It’s like buying the Wife flowers and pretending you’ve become a new man when really it means you will be home late *issed after rugby on Saturday…..

to good to be true, something is going up. 😀

  3. *issed

I wonder does buying flowers give you a speech impediment

    😆 😆 😆 😆

  4. Most sellers already pay for gallery in the belief that it improves sales, so does this mean their sales will fall when when gallery is universal?

  5. Just a small correction, the Parts & Accessories section of eBay Motors are *included*. It’s everything else under motors that isn’t.

It certainly improves sales vs. not using it, but our expectation here is that having all items with Gallery photos across the site will be a ‘rising tide that lifts all boats’.

    Cheers

  7. Great move.
I sell a lot of items at £14.95 starting price, always with gallery, this, taken in conjunction with the earlier fee cut, means my listing fee has reduced by 50%.
It also tilts the balance in that it will probably mean that I will more than double listings, spread them more during the day etc, because the risk/reward ratio makes more sense
It also equates to a 10p listing fee + gallery, everydays a cheap listing day for 5 months !

  8. I don’t want to sound stoopid here but the terms and conditions state on the what’s included that it’s for items listed in Euros and on .ie 😕

Does anyone know if this is correct or an error ❓

  9. Jo: as it’s on the eBay UK homepage *and* an eBay employee has commented on this thread, and eBay UK had it on their Twitter yesterday too, I think we can safely assume that it’s UK *and* Ireland, and the announcement has a typo.

FWIW, I’m sure it said “GBP on eBay.co.uk” yesterday, but I might be imagining that 😆

  10. * Will wait with baited breath lol* 😉

Just read the announcements to check and it still states euro and .ie, maybe it is a typo and fingers crossed it is, I posted on the thread on the PS board late last night for clarification but no-one has replied yet, hopefully when the Pinkies arise there will be some. 🙂

  11. I’m starting to wonder why it’s not been implemented with immediate effect? I’m already starting to begrudge paying 15p a listing for the next week before it kicks in 😆

  12. Just a thought on this, obviously all sellers would like free gallery going forward, but I take into account the better fee discounts there are in the UK.
Could Ebay put the Gallery fee into the backend of the tranaction, in that on a sale you pay 15p + the FVFs.
That way as a seller you would only pay for gallery if you sold, Ebay benefits because sellers would list more.

  13. Shush yourself Dave 😯 Don’t give eBay ideas, we want free gallery to be free, not to pay for it in any way shape or form 🙂

  14. There was a thread a while ago about putting borders on your gallery image to make it stand out, did anybody try this/did it help sales ?
