Free listings for specifically invited eBayers

No primary category set

There’s a free listing weekend on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August 2010, but only for sellers specifically invited by email to take part.. The free listings only apply to auction listings at any start price listed on the 21st-22nd with the normal category exclusions.

The leaves a lot to be desired though. After stating it’s for users invited by email only, the banner at the top of the page contradicts this saying it’s “Open to all users except business sellers). Also the dates “Sunday 21th and Sunday 22nd August 2010” should I guess read “Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd August 2010″. Someone at eBay should get a new copy writer in to check their pages before putting them live, but it does at least give us something to write about on TameBay 🙂

  1. They really do need some better staff writers. I know I make fun of them mercilessly all the time but in all seriousness, sometimes their verbiage is plain old confusing, contradictory and, well, dumb.

  2. Looks like this is a “staggered! free listing offer, as I have just had one for the 22nd and 23rd

  3. Sent to my private account, says this:
    On 22 and 23 August 2010!*
£0.00 insertion fee on Auction format listings with any starting price.
Open to all users (except business sellers).
All Final Value Fees and optional listing upgrade fees still apply.

  4. Does eBay make your listing free automatcily when you sign into your account or do you need a special code? Because my boyfriend has deleted his email!! So im unsure what to do!?
