eBay are reducing the cost of listing on overseas sites. There are already free listings for Anchor Shop subscribers and the great news is that the cost of an Anchor shop is dropping from £349.99 to £249.99 saving £100 per month.

More good news, up until today to qualify for International free listings with an Anchor shop you had to be a Top Rated Seller. eBay are now extending the offer to ALL sellers (Even if you’re not Top Rated).

Even more good news, from September eBay are giving International free listings for sellers with a Featured shop on three EU sites, eBay Australia and eBay.com. Featured shop subscribers will also get reduced insertion fees for all other eBay European sites.

Quite frankly this is massive, it’s hard to figure out where to start when working out which eBay shop subscription to go for. We know that previously it made sense to have an Anchor shop with about 200+ EU and Australian listings but that’s come down significantly with the £100 subscription reduction. Many sellers won’t even need an Anchor shop as a featured shop is fantastically cost effective – Even without free eBay German listings, at €0.05 insertion fees plus free listings for France, Italy and Spain, a Featured store at £59.99 is great value.

Our advice is to figure out how many UK 30 day or Good til Cancelled listings you want, how many UK auctions you run each month, which International sites you want to list on and how many listings you’ll need and then run those figures for each shop level to get the best value for you.

eBay are now expanding visibility of your listings to countries where eBay don’t have a local site.     Oddly enough we had a call this morning to go on the program for two months, so we said yes!

    The only slight issue with this is I am guessing this is going to lead to more EU sellers and US sellers listing on .co.uk site, so perhaps more competition?

  2. I am a bit confused by this.

    I currently sell quite a lot to Australia. I assume my listings are showing up in Oz as there is not many Australian listings.

    Is there any advantage to me listing on .au?

    Will it be like Amazon where I have one SKU or will it be more inventory that I have to control?


  3. Unless you use an external stock management system then you would need separate stock.

    I would list directly as you would get more exposure on ebay.au then just by ticking the box on your ebay.co.uk accounts.

    Perhaps try a handful of the top selling items you sell to Australia and see what happens.


  4. Be careful!!!.
    I got approached a few months ago by Ebay saying about the advantages of selling on international sites direct.
    I said well as I get the exposure anyway being an anchor shop would ebay not end up with DUPE listings for .FR .AU .COM etc etc. In turn if each of those sites showed my itemds internationally I could potentially have millions of duplicated listings which COULD fall foul of DUPE listings.
    I was told as an EG
    If I listed a charm on ebay AUSTRALIA I would then have to remove the shipping location of AUS from my UK listing and I assume from the AUS listing I would remove the UK ones.
    I don;t think that ebay have made this clear at all and COULD get some sellers into deep doo doo.
    Does anyone have any experience of this.

  5. Looks good. Bit late this year to push the ebay international sales aspect but will likely do it next spring.
