Marketplace Overview
Yatego is a German-language online marketplace and popular shopping destination, featuring goods from 10k merchants selling 5 million products and 16 million product variants. The site enjoys visits from 3.4 million unique users per month, predominantly from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Yatego covers the full spectrum of product verticals.
Seller registration and requirements
In order to start selling here you need to build a shop on the marketplace. You can then market that independently but, additionally, the goods in that shop are also automatically included in the marketplace. Details about what you need to do to open a shop are scant. And we can’t ascertain exactly what the registration criteria are. We would love to hear from you if you know more.
Product listings and fulfilment
Yatego isn’t the most demaning or controlling of marketplaces. All payments are made directly to the seller by the buyer and merchants are in charge of their own fulfilment by whichever method they prefer.
You can plug in your existing product feed to build your shop inventory. It’s an easy integration if you already use the likes of Linnworks, Magento or PlentyMarkets.
Tamebay’s take on Yatego
If truth be told, trying to find out exact details and information about selling on Yatego has been quite tricky. That problem could be interpreted in a number of different ways. Perhaps the marketplace isn’t suited to UK sellers, and German shoppers don’t want to buy from Brits. But we know that isn’t true from other marketplaces who cherish UK sellers.
Perhaps the marketplace Yatego doesn’t want non-German Sellers. But that seems unlikely. Maybe all this points to the fact that it could be a tricky but extremely worthwhile horizon with little competition from UK Sellers. It’s hard to say. (Perhaps the only certainty is that German language proficiency when trading there is going to be absolutely vital).
But the numbers speak for themselves and it’s possible to integrate easily with Yatego and list your wares there with relative ease via a third party software provider. So, remeberering that fulfilment to Germany and Austria is relatively easy and efficient, Yatego is well worth considering. But bigger marketplaces there may make more sense as a first step.
If you have you any experience selling on this marketplace, please do share your insights.
